A lot of companies will give you a meter for free through the internet. It comes with a lancet device and a few lancets, along with 5-10 test strips—-it’s the test strips that are the most important.
I’ve found some important resources/links/fellow diabetics on Tumblr under “diabetics” and “tumblrbetics”. I’d try to stay away from the “diabetes” tag—-it’s mostly full of people tagging super sugary desserts or drinks with “diabetes”—-which is not necessarily how diabetes works.

Thanks for the information. I don’t know who or what to ask but I understand adopting a healthy diet and workout regimen tremendously helps.
I’ve struggled with weight loss in the past and I feel as if its due to my blood sugar not being regulated or monitored by a healthy diet.
